New Delhi.: State Election Commissioner, NCT of Delhi and UT Chandigarh Dr.Vijay Dev, launched a Coffee Table Book on General Elections to Municipal Corporation of Delhi held by the State Election Commission, NCT of Delhi, in December 2022. In addition to the Coffee Table Book, two volumes of Election Report were also released by SEC.
The Coffee Table Book offers a visual journey that vividly encapsulates memorable insights, weaving together captivating narratives and stunning imagery of the General Elections to Municipal Corporation of Delhi conducted by this Commission in December, 2022. The Election Report, on the other hand, is a commentary on various aspects of the elections along with empirical data and provides key insights to the electoral planning and would serve as a guiding source for future elections.
At the launch, State Election Commissioner said that while the significance of national and state-level elections is widely acknowledged, it is the local elections that form the cornerstone of grassroot democracy. The municipal elections conducted at the ward levels, empower citizens to have a direct say in the governance of their communities, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their basic needs are addressed. He further informed that the publications released by the State Election Commission are a tribute to the excellent performance of all election officials who collectively and vigorously worked day and night to achieve this significant feat of conducting peaceful, free and fair elections.
