New Delhi :- The 2nd Edition of Sourcex India (Jan 17-19), promoting Indian brands globally, was inaugurated at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on January 17, 2024 by the Director General of Foreign Trade, Govt of India, Mr Santosh Kumar Sarangi. The mega event witnesses more than 100 buyers from 30+ countries from across the world.
Inaugurating the 3-day Exhibition cum Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), DGFT appreciated FIEO for organising the grandeur of Sourcex India and enlighted the Indian exhibitors on leveraging opportunities and maximising FTAs to catapult their brands on to the global stage. As the 2nd Edition of Sourcex India unfolds with about 150 Indian brands showcasing different kinds of goods and services, ready to make waves in the International markets, which Mr Sarangi endorsed saying that we should be looking at multiplying exhibitors and buyers in next edition. Mr Sarangi also reiterated that RBSM like Sourcex India helps large number of SMEs to meet international buyers as compared to limited participation in international events abroad. DGFT further added that event has immense potential for Indian brands, focussing on SMEs, in the global market and serves as an avenue to explore new partnerships.
FIEO President (Officiate), Mr Israr Ahmed addressing the inaugural of the event said this event is a testament to our commitment to showcasing Indian brands on the global stage. It is not merely an exhibition, but a platform designed to facilitate the global launch of Indian brands. Sourcex India 2024 transcends being just an exhibition. In the upcoming three days, B2B meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions and interactive workshops will unfold, providing invaluable insights into global market trends and enabling Indian companies to better understand the preferences of international buyers, added Mr Ahmed.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural session of the event, Dr Ajay Sahai, DG & CEO, FIEO said that as the country aims to achieve US$ 2 trillion goods and services exports by 2030, the event of such repute will not only supplement in achieving this goal but add to the overall economic growth of the country. Dr Sahai further added that promoting Indian brands will position India as a leading of supplier of quality products globally. He added that India has potential, resources, capacity and ecosystem to emerge as a major supplier in the World.
Proposing the vote of thanks to the august gathering, Mr Raj Kumar Malhotra, Regional Chairman (NR), FIEO said that the event is a strategic endeavour that delves into the core of brand relevance and significance.
