New Delhi, 26th June 2024 – In a groundbreaking initiative marking International MSME Day, the Chamber of Service Industry hosted a pioneering conference in New Delhi. The event showcased the potential of defence personnel transitioning into various sectors of the service industry, ranging from tourism and hospitality to management and environmental protection.
Ms. Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of MSME, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering innovation within the MSME service sector. Special Guest of Honour, Mr. Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, highlighted the pivotal role of ex-defence personnel in shaping India’s burgeoning service economy.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Subhash Goyal, President of the Chamber for Service Industry, Brigadier Inder Mohan Singh from the Indian Ex-Servicemen League, and Col. Tejandra Pal Tyagi of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha. They collectively emphasized the adaptability and skill set of defence veterans for roles spanning security, wellness, and beyond.
