President of International Ramlila Committee, social worker and chairman of Vandana Group of Schools and Kamal Model Group of Schools, Dr. Ved Tandon has been staging Ramlila with school children across the country for the last few years. This year also, along with staging Ramlila at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, he is also getting school children to stage Ramlila in Kurukshetra. Business Dunia talked in detail with Dr. Ved Tandon on this staging of Ramlila. Here are the highlights of the conversation

Dr. Tandon, could you please tell us more about the upcoming Ramlila performance by school children in Delhi-NCR?

Dr. Ved Tandon: Good day. Certainly, I’d be happy to share more about this exciting event. On October 13, school children from Delhi-NCR will be presenting a complete Ramlila performance as part of the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee’s longstanding tradition at the Red Fort.

That sounds truly remarkable. Could you provide some details about the event itself? What can the audience expect from this unique Ramlila staging?

Of course. This Ramlila performance will be an exceptional one, as it involves school students from different institutions who will take on various character roles. The entire Ramlila will be condensed into a three-hour show, and it promises to leave a lasting impression on the audience. It’s an opportunity for these young actors to showcase their talents on the grand stage of Delhi’s biggest Ramlila.

That’s indeed a significant platform for these young talents. Can you share which schools and students will be participating in this event?

Dr. Ved Tandon: Certainly. On December 13, from 7 pm to 10 pm, students from Kamal Model Senior Secondary School in Mohan Garden, Vandana International School in Sector-10 Dwarka, and Gurugram Global Heights School in Sector-102 Haryana will be taking part in this Ramlila staging. They will portray different characters, adding a fresh perspective to this age-old tradition.

That’s wonderful to hear. Is there anything unique or special about this year’s Ramlila performance that sets it apart from previous years?

Absolutely. What makes this year’s Ramlila performance special is that it provides school students with the opportunity to perform on the grand stage of Delhi’s biggest Ramlila, the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee at the Red Fort. This will be the first time these young actors will be showcasing their talents on such a prestigious platform, and I believe the audience will be enthralled by their performances.

Lastly, Dr. Tandon, could you share the significance of Ramlila in society and what it teaches us about the ideals of Lord Shri Ram?

Ramlila plays a vital role in our society by teaching us to follow the ideals of Lord Shri Ram. Through the reenactment of his life and teachings, Ramlila provides a moral and cultural education to the community. It encourages values such as righteousness, truth, and compassion, which are essential for a harmonious and virtuous society. The International Ramlila Committee is dedicated to preserving and promoting this rich cultural heritage through such events.

Thank you, Dr. Ved Tandon, for sharing these insights about the upcoming Ramlila performance in Delhi. We look forward to witnessing this extraordinary event on October 13th at the Red Fort.

Thank you for having me, and I hope to see everyone there enjoying the Ramlila performance on that special evening.
