New Delhi: Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs, virtually flagged off ‘STORM’, a customized fuel specially curated by IndianOil for FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2024 season from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Nava Sheva today. The high-octane Ultimate Racing Fuel has been specially developed by IndianOil for premium superbikes in the racing circuit and will be positioned as the fuel of the champions at racing events globally.
Mr. Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas; Mr. Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman, and Mr. V Satish Kumar, Director (Marketing), IndianOil also participated in the flag-off ceremony.
Flagging off the premium fuel, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri said that for the first time IndianOil has commenced the production of category 2 race fuel, aptly named STORM, from Gujarat refinery. This race fuel, along with other offerings such as AV Gas 100 LL, reference fuels, etc., adhere to stringent international specifications and align with India’s recent endeavour towards self-reliance.
Mr. Jain commended IndianOil’s abilities to develop niche products that require exacting standards and deliver outstanding performance. He said that this product portfolio shows that IndianOil is a world -class company that can provide solutions as per customers’ evolving and futuristic demands.
On the occasion Mr. S M Vaidya elaborated on the Company’s sustained success in developing world-class products that set new industry benchmarks globally. “IndianOil is immensely proud to launch ‘STORM’, the ultimate racing fuel, by leveraging in-house resources. We are confident that IndianOil ‘STORM’ will deliver exceptional performance and contribute to the thrilling racing experience for which these championships are known. Today’s flag-off by the esteemed Hon’ble Minister will prove to be another benchmark in our collective endeavor towards Make in India and Make for the World,” he said.
The launch of ‘STORM’ that is being produced entirely in India, marks a significant boost to the spirit of self-reliance and the ‘Make in India’ mission. The collaboration with FIM is a strong demonstration of India’s capabilities in developing advanced automotive solutions meeting stringent international standards and amplifies India’s presence on the international stage. The niche offering will fuel the modern automobiles at prestigious racing events like the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, catalyzing India’s journey towards technological self-sufficiency and excellence.
